Our Story
From rural farms to urban tables โ

1987
Where it began
BRAC's dairy story began with our artificial insemination programme to improve
cattle breeds and boost milk yield. Output grew, but without storage facilities,
much of the extra milk could not reach the market.
1998
Changing the game
BRAC introduced rural milk collection centres and chilling facilities, giving
farmers the chance to sell surplus milk at a fair price โ laying the foundation for
a nationwide cold chain.
Now
Nationwide reach
We work with over 35,000 registered farmers, collecting about 150,000 litres of
fresh milk every day through 180 milk chilling centres and collection points across
rural Bangladesh.
Our Mission
Create sustainable livelihood opportunities for dairy farmers, improve national nutrition, and connect people with high-quality dairy products from Bangladesh. BRAC Dairy processes milk in our very own factory, transforming it into fresh products โ from nutritious drinking milk to yoghurt and butter โ for customers nationwide.
